The Ministry of Economy and Trade has revealed that 182 foreign companies operated in Libya in various fields in 2022.

The ministry stated that 44 new companies accessed the labour market and were granted permission to operate during the same year, and that 58 foreign companies applied to renew work permits and licenses.

Regarding domains of work of those companies, the ministry explained that 35 companies worked in the oil sector, 37 companies in contracting, 16 companies in electricity and 7 in the communications sector.

35 companies came from Turkey, 8 from Egypt, 5 from Germany, 3 from America, 5 from Italy, 5 from France, 7 from Britain, and 12 from Tunisia, the ministry added.

The ministry underscored that the political stability seen by the country in 2022 encouraged the return of foreign companies to participate in investment projects.
