A quintal of flour has registered an increase of 65 dinars, the head of the Bakers Syndicate, Khurais Muhammad has confirmed.
He explained that prices on Saturday went up from 210 dinars for a quintal to 275 on Friday.
Wholesalers closed their stores in the face of this dramatic increase in flour prices, Khurais Muhammad said, noting that bakery owners have enough stocks for two or three days.
He expressed his astonishment at the pretext of the war in Ukraine, even though the crop to be supplied to Libya is still in the process of cultivation, as he put it.
"The flour circulating in the Libyan market had been supplied for several months and stored inside the warehouses of the milling companies," the head of the Bakers Syndicate explains.
