Libya and Turkey signed on Friday a cooperation agreement in the field of education, on the sidelines of the 3rd Turkish-African Partnership summit, in Istanbul.

Turkish Minister of Education Mahmud Ozer, who inked the agreement with his Libyan counterpart Musa Al-Maqrif, said that relations between Turkey and Libya are rooted and date back more than 500 years.

He added that the ties between the two countries are witnessing a great development at all levels, especially in the education area, and emphasized their readiness to transfer the Turkish experience in technical and vocational education to the Libyan side.

For his part, Maqrif praised Turkey's efforts in supporting stability in Libya, stressing his country's desire to enhance cooperation with Ankara in various fields.
