The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aguila Saleh, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Sadiq ElKaber, and his deputy, Marai Miftah Raheel, to discuss steps towards approving a unified budget for 2024.
According to the CBL, the meeting in Cairo covered the handling of exchange proposals, fuel subsidies, the latest developments in the unification of the Central Bank, and the improvement of banking services and electronic payment systems.
The meeting also addressed the steps taken to approve the unified budget for 2024, banking sector-related laws, and coordination with state institutions.
Saleh expressed gratitude for the Bank's role in maintaining the reserves and state financial sustainability.
He emphasized the Parliament's support for continuing these efforts and the importance of ongoing communication with the House of Representatives.
