Al-Ahly Tripoli qualified for the group stage of the King Salman Cup for Champions Clubs (Arab Championship), after a goalless draw with its host Al-Nahda of Oman, on Monday, at Al-Buraimi Sports Complex, in the second leg of the preliminary round of the competition.
Al-Ahly is on to the next stage thanks to its victory in the first leg match at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, which ended with a 4-2 win.
Al-Ahly Tripoli joins Group B with Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia, Al-Sadd of Qatar, and Al-Wadad of Morocco. All coming matches will be held in Saudi Arabia.
The team had eliminated the Vanguards of the Egyptian Army from the first preliminary round by winning 3-2 on aggregate.
