The Association of African Central Banks (AACB) has elected the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, as Chairman of the North African Central Banks Group (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Sudan) during its annual meetings for the year 2023, which were held in Gambia.

Al-Kabir was elected as Vice-President of the Association during the next year 2024, and Chairman of the Board of Governors of African Central Banks for the year 2025.

The AACB will hold its next meeting for the year 2024 in Libya, hosted by the Central Bank of Libya, according to the bank Facebook page.
