The Sudanese club Al-Merreikh has appointed Al-Siddiq Khalifa Haftar,  as honorary president of the club, and removed the former honorary president of the club, Ahmed Al-Tazi, from his position after he did not abide by his promises of financial support for the club, the Al-Sudani newspaper said.

According to the newspaper, the decision was rejected by some members of the board of directors, headed by the club’s vice president for cultural affairs, Haitham Kabo.

Kabo considered the decision illegal, saying that it was carried out outside the club’s administrative systems and regulations.
