The Head of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, confirmed on Sunday that he had come a long way with the House of Representatives regarding the preparation of the constitutional rule. However, he revealed that there are ‘differences between two major political blocs in Libya’.

In televised statement, Al-Mishri said that "It is possible to hold elections before October 2023, if the constitutional rule is approved soon", and denied the existence of differences between him and the Speaker of Parliament, Aqila Saleh.

"The three tracks are separate from each other, and what is of concern to the public now is the constitutional track because it relates to the elections," he added.

He stressed that the High Council of State will decide its position on resuming dialogue with the House of Representatives after suspending the Constitutional Court law.
