The Head of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, reiterated their keenness on holding Libyan elections on December 24 based on sound legal bases and the constitutional declaration.

The two officials remarked in a meeting in Ankara that all challenges to holding elections should be resolved, stressing the need to ensure fair and transparent elections and the withdrawal of foreign fighters and mercenaries as soon as possible.

Al-Mishri said the presence of forces based on state agreements and legal measures by internationally recognized governments without any foreign pressure and agenda is an issue that is determined by the legitimate authorities in Libya.
