Authorities in Sirte have recovered 18 unidentified bodies from the Sabaa area, the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons has confirmed.
The authority said it dispatched a cadaver recovery team to the site after receiving a report from the Sirte Partial Prosecution Office.
According to the statement, the team recovered 18 unidentified bodies and transferred them to the city's hospital, Ibn Sina.
The authority said they are working to identify the bodies and skeletal remains using DNA analysis.
The unidentified corpses were later buried by a special team, according to the same source.
