A Tunisian customs official has confirmed that trade activities between Tunisia and Libya through Ras Jdir border crossing is resumed with new facilities.

The regional director of customs in Medenine, Issam Zureiq, said that commercial movement resumed without new administrative procedures through the Libyan authorities creating a special corridor for commercial movement that facilitates work and the flow of trucks, according to Tunisian media, on Sunday.

He also stated that a number of customs permits had been accepted since Friday, marking the start of new commercial activities, adding that the security and customs authorities on the Tunisian side were continuing their work normally, and arrangements would be adopted in as was agreed between the two sides.
