Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah received on Thursday representatives of the Malaysian Advisory Council, including its executive director Hassan Mad.

The delegation, which is visiting Libya, discussed bilateral cooperation with Libya's National Council for Economic and Social Development.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the outcomes of previous meetings concerning the development of Islamic banks in Libya and benefiting from the Malaysian experience, in addition to developing the halal economy compatible with Islamic Sharia.

They also debated cooperation in higher education and scientific research programmes, starting with the signing of a twinning agreement between the University of Tripoli and the Malaysian University UPM, as well as the return of Malaysian companies to operate from Libya.
