Doctors Without Borders said on Wednesday that its rescue teams picked up 61 irregular migrants off the Libyan coast.

The rescued migrants included 13 women and 24 minors - the youngest being less than one year old.

The NGO said the migrants were packed on board a rubber boat in international waters near Libya.

"Everyone is now safe aboard GeoBarents and being cared for by the team," the organization tweeted.
