The Ministry of Education in Tripoli has called on teachers to end their strike and return to classes.
A committee tasked by the Ministry to negotiate with the strikers promised to communicate with the concerned government authorities to implement the teachers' demands on improving salaries and to include them in the health insurance service.
The Teachers' Union called for a general strike of teachers throughout Libya on October 15, the date set by the Ministry to start the new school year in the country.
