A plane carrying 165 Libyan nationals that were evacuated from Ukraine through Slovak territory landed at Mitiga International Airport on Thursday evening.
Several government officials were at the airport to receive the first evacuation flight, including Minister of Housing and Construction Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, and Minister of Local Government Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi.
The flight was operated by Afriqiyah Airways and has taken off from Slovakia, the Foreign Ministry explained, confirming that flights will continue in succession to ensure all Libyans in Ukraine are brought to safety.
