The French Embassy in Libya has affirmed Paris's full support for the United Nations mediation to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya in 2023.

This came during the meeting of the Special Envoy of the French President to Libya, Paul Soler, and the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje with the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily.

The French delegation met in Tripoli with the head of the Presidential Council Mohammed Menfi, the Vice President of the State Council Omar Abu Shah and the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission Imad Al-Sayeh.

During the meetings, they discussed developments in the electoral process in Libya and the work outputs of the 6 + 6 committee regarding the development of electoral laws.
