The Special Envoy of the French President to Libya, Paul Soler, has confirmed his country's support for the call of UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily to form a unified government with the aim of holding presidential and legislative elections as soon as possible.

This came during a meeting in the capital, Tripoli, in the presence of the French ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje, according to the French embassy X platform page, on Wednesday.

Soler praised the efforts of the 6 + 6 Committee, and affirmed Paris' adherence to Libya's sovereignty, and its support for the mediation efforts made by the UN envoy with all the Libyan parties.
