The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has announced that the Fajeej power line of the Ubari Gas Power project is in the final stages. This will contribute to the transfer of power produced from the Ubari Plant to the national grid, and would help in stabilizing the national grid and reduce load shedding hours.

In a statement, GECOL explained that the connection work on the Fajeej Ubari line is nearing completion, pointing out that through it, the production of two turbines will be transferred from the Ubari Power Plant to the public network, with a production capacity of 340 megawatts.

Work is continuing to link the 220 kV high-pressure connections from the Ubari gas station (Fajeej) to the high-pressure towers from which power to be introduced into the national network, the statement added.
