The General Electricity Company (GECOL) announced, on Saturday, the start of operational tests of the air-cooling system entering the compressor of the second gas turbine at the Western Mountain Power Station, to raise the production capacity and maintain its stability.

The German company Siemens is applying this process for the first time in Libya, as part of a long-term maintenance agreement for the benefit of the units of the Western Mountain Gas Power Station, according to a post on the GECOL official Facebook page.

In another development, GECOL announced, on Friday, the implementation of the Ubari injection station project (voltage 11/66 kV), noting, in a statement, that this project will contribute to increasing the performance of power transmission, to secure stability of the power network, and improve its performance in the region.
