The Government of National Unity (GNU) has launched a program to localize treatment in the specialty of pediatric cardiac surgery, starting next September in a number of public health centers.
This came according to an agreement between the head of the Apparatus for Supporting and Developing Clinical Services, and the head of the Department of Pediatric Heart Deformities Surgery at Bambino Gesu Hospital in the Italian capital, Rome, according to a post on the government's Facebook page.
The program will continue in the long term, according to a clear strategy and plan, aiming to train Libyan medical staff in this specialty, and to perform surgical operations, according to the same source.
