The Head of the Bakers’ Syndicate, Akhrays Mohamed, said that the committee formed to inspect bakeries had been dissolved, and that most of the detainees, owners of bakeries and workers, had been released.

Mohamed added, in a press statement, that there are committees in the regions that follow up the work of bakeries to detect violations in a better way, as he put it.

He stressed that the situation is reassuring and that flour is available and prices vary from 275 to 290 dinars per 100 Kg, depending on the quality.

There is an agreement, according to a recent meeting of the Ministry of Economy to refrain from supplying ready-made flour from abroad through foreign companies and to purchase flour from national mills and to provide the required quantity according to Libyan specifications, Mohamed explained.
