Tunisian President Kais Saied has stressed the necessity of overcoming all difficulties with the Libyan side to reopen the Ras Ajdir border crossing between Tunisia and Libya, after three months of closure.

This came during the Tunisian President’s reception, at Carthage Palace, of the Minister of Interior, Khaled Al-Nouri, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Interior in charge of National Security, Sufyan Belsadiq, according to a statement issued by the Tunisian presidency.

The border crossing was scheduled to reopen on Monday, according to an announcement by the Libyan Ministry of Interior, before it was suddenly announced that the opening would be postponed, and movement at the border crossing would be limited to urgent humanitarian, health, and diplomatic cases.
