A delegation consisting of the Deputy Head of the Tourist Police, a representative of the Libyan Foreign Ministry and an expert from the Antiquities Department visited Brazil to inspect an archaeological statue that had been smuggled to Brazil, in order to prove the ownership of the Libyan state.

During the visit, the delegation met with members of the Brazilian Federal Police to allow the Libyan expert to conduct an initial inspection of this piece.

They also met the judge in charge of the statue’s case file to request a deadline for a certain period until the necessary examinations of the soil samples that were taken from the statue’s head are completed, as the judge agreed to grant the delegation the required time until the completion of the procedures.
