The Undersecretary of the Libyan Ministry of Transport, Wissam Al-Idrisi said, that the committees from both Libyan and Tunisian sides are expected to meet in the coming days in order to develop a strategy to reopen the borders, taking into full account all Coronavirus precautionary measures.
Al-Idrisi added, in a press statement released, that the cause for closure of the borders with Tunisia was simply for health reasons, pointing out that they had been in contact with the Tunisian embassy in Libya, adding that mutual procedures continue as normal between both countries.
He further explained that the state of Tunisia has its own particular protocol in dealing with Libya individually and that the resulting closure of borders between both countries merely brought Libya in line with treatment received by other neighbouring countries for safety reasons.
