The Libyan Red Crescent has urged the authorities to take action to limit illegal immigration that is sweeping the country.

In a press conference from Khums city, east of Tripoli, the humanitarian movement highlighted the challenges it is facing as a result of illegal immigration.

It said the morgue is piled with corps, and their teams lack ambulances to transfer the bodies.

The group appealed to the concerned authorities to consider these requirements and assume responsibility towards this phenomenon.

The mayor of Khums had demanded that a piece of land be allocated in the city to bury the dead immigrants after many hospitals refused to receive them.
