The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has discussed with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the necessity of unifying efforts towards reaching a humanitarian truce in preparation for a sustainable cessation of military operations.
During the meeting that took place in the French capital, Paris, on the sidelines of the peace conference on Gaza, the two sides discussed developments in the political process in Libya, and the findings of the 6+6 Committee regarding the adoption of electoral laws.
The meeting stressed the need to reach a national consensus on the remaining outstanding issues that are still in dispute, leading to parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible, in addition to supporting the work of the 5+5 committee, in preparation for unifying the military institution.
