Misrata Municipality and the Political Gathering of Misrata MPs confirmed Saturday that they are very keen on following up on the Tanzania-flagged freighter Andromeda case and the information received on the matter.
In a joint statement, the two bodies clarified that the competent authorities in the city opened an investigation with the freighter's agent to provide clarifications on the shipment, the consignee, and the reason for changing its course.
The statement called on the local official authorities to communicate with the countries of Turkey and Greece in order to reveal the hidden facts, and inform them of the results, in addition to hold accountable everyone who was involved in this incident.
It also criticized the misuse of information by some "suspicious media" of the incident and the fact of changing its destination to Misrata.
