The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it had submitted a proposal regarding a political solution on the Libyan crisis to the United States (US), however, the US side had not provided any clear reaction to the proposal.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, which did not disclose the content outlined in its proposal, said it does not regard the State Department’s recent briefing a response to the Russian initiative.
The United States has accused Russia of engaging in “injurious activity” by taking advantage of the crisis, using regional conflicts for its own narrow political and economic interests to undermine the political process in Libya.
