The statement warned against the Mayor's attempts to drag the town into strife and political disputes over legitimacy for personal gains.
The Council held the Government of National Unity and the Ministry of Local Governance responsible for the delay in conducting municipal elections in the city, urging the relevant bodies to expedite the electoral process to prevent "opportunists" from exploiting the situation.
