The US Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, has reaffirmed the United States' strong support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to hold the elections this year.
This came during his meeting with the Member of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni.
“I was pleased to meet Al-Koni to reiterate strong US support for Bathily’s efforts to launch elections this year”, Norland said in a tweet.
The two sides discussed how the new US Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability will bring focus to historically marginalized areas of Libya.
