The Libya Navy has confirmed the rescue of 340 illegal immigrants off the Libyan coast, without specifying the area.
The spokesman for the Libyan Navy explained in a statement that around 153 migrants fled the disembarking point upon their rescue on Friday.
The other 187 migrants were referred to the Anti- Immigration Authority, according to the statement.
