The parallel Government in Libya has said that it is ready to host the first African-European Conference on Migration in Benghazi in late May.
The Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the parallel Government organized a preparatory symposium on migration in the Mediterranean region in the city of Tangier of Morocco between 28 and 30 March, in preparation for the conference.
The symposium was held in cooperation with the Mediterranean Immigration and Asylum Authority, with the participation of a number of academics, politicians, jurists and civil society representatives from Libya, Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia.
