The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of three foreign suspects, who were part of a gang for smuggling fuel out of the country.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office of Misrata Appeal Court investigated the attempted smuggling of twenty marine transport containers containing 360,000 liters of diesel fuel out of the country.
The gang added small quantities of oil to the fuel, in anticipation of conducting an inspection of the loaded materials, as they were already able to smuggle large quantities of fuel at different times and through different ports, the Office added.
