The Public Prosecution issued a decision of acquittal of Abdel Rahman Milad, known by the alias of ‘Al-Bidja’ from accusations against him of involvement of crimes of human trafficking and fuel smuggling.

Al-Bidja, an officer in the Libyan Coast Guard, was released on Sunday, having been arrested some months ago in Tripoli whilst on his way to surrendering to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

This took place after authorities had issued a warrant for his arrest due to his name being mentioned in international reports, accusing him of human smuggling and committing crimes of human rights violations.
