Russia has warned its citizens against traveling to Libya for personal and tourist purposes, saying it poses a "danger to life and health," especially in the western part of the country."
This came in a statement published by the Russian embassy in Libya, reminding its citizens that Libya is a non-tourist destination.
The Russian embassy attributed this to the fact that the military and political situation in the country is still very tense, stressing that traveling to Libya for unofficial purposes is dangerous. The embassy also indicated that this warning includes transit through Libya by means of transportation, such as buses, cars, motorcycles, or bicycles.
