The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Gennady Gatilov, stated on Sunday that Russia is ready to discuss easing the arms embargo on Libya.

This comes one day after Foreign Minister of Presidential Council, Mohamed Sayala, met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Gatilov said that Moscow is dealing with the issue as a constructive one, based on the reality of the situation in Libya, adding that easing the arms embargo can only be possible after submitting a request to the UN Sanctions Committee, noting that this process is not a quick one depending on developments of the situation in the country.
