Libya deports 165 migrants to Nigeria

Rwanda received 91 refugees and asylum seekers from Libya, as part of a programme supported by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, the African Union and the European Union.

Among the arrivals were 38 Sudanese, 33 Eritreans, 11 Somalis, 7 Ethiopians and 2 people from South Sudan.

Refugees and asylum seekers were evacuated as part of the Emergency Transit Mechanism programme, which has seen 2,150 refugees being sent from Libya to Rwanda, since 2019.
