Libya has managed to evacuate seven of its nationals from Ukraine while active efforts are underway to bring two Libyan families to safety, the Libyan ambassador to Ukraine, Adel Issa, has confirmed.
The two families have been stranded for days in their places of residence in the capital Kyiv as a result of the armed confrontations going on in the country.
"The seven Libyan nationals arrived at the embassy and are in good health," Issa said, noting that work is underway to get two other families stuck on the Ukrainian borders and transfer them to the embassy.
In a separate post, the ambassador called on all Libyans residing in Kyiv and nearby cities who plan to return to Libya to head to the Libyan Embassy's HQ and register their names with the committee overseeing the evacuation process.
