The Trade Unions of Al-Zawiya Oil Complex have called on the UN mission to pressure the international community, in order to hold those responsible for the bombing of the Zawiya refinery accountable and bring them to justice, as the incident constitutes a crime against humanity, according to the union.

In a statement addressed to the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Sunday, the union stressed that they would continue to perform their national duty to work in the oil complex, while at the same time respect the NOC's decision regarding the possibility of ceasing the operations at the refinery in the event of repeated shelling.

The statement condemned the targeting of the Zawiya refinery vicinity, warning that it is a dangerous escalation that does not take into account the consequences of hitting the fuel tanks which would be a human catastrophe for more than 350 thousand people.
