Tunisian customs officials at the Ras Jedir border crossing have announced the seizure of a substantial quantity of gold and silver jewellery hidden inside a car attempting to enter Tunisia from Libya.

The confiscated contraband, with a staggering value of 1.3 million Tunisian dinars (approximately 2.7 million Libyan dinars), weighs a total of 34 kilograms, comprising 6.4 kilograms of gold and 27.5 kilograms of silver.

Authorities have filed a seizure report and referred the suspect to the relevant security authorities for further investigation.
