A well-known TV producer and human rights activist, Mansour Atti, was abducted by gunmen in the eastern city of Ajdabiya on Thursday.
Sources said that Atti was kidnapped from Tripoli Street in Ajdabiya, having received specific threats from followers of the dominant Salafist movement, in the eastern region, who are known to be Haftar loyalists.
Atti is also the Head of the Ajdabiya branch of the Libyan Red Crescent Society.
In his professional capacity, he produced the third part of the well-acclaimed series ‘Shatt Al-Hurriya’, one of the most successful Libyan comedies, some of his episodes were not without criticism of the actions of Haftar’s militias in eastern Libya.
