UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash said on Wednesday that Haftar did not consult with the UAE before launching his attack on Tripoli.
"Tripoli is still under the control of armed factions of thugs and gangs," Gargash said, according to Reuters.
The UAE is one of the key supporters of warlord Khalifa Haftar and provided him with money and weapons.
It has been accused of being involved directly in his military campaign against Tripoli, through using drones to shell the capital.
