Ukraine has renewed its call for the release of the 14 crew members of tanker “Routa” detained by the Libyan authorities since 2017 in Libyan territorial waters for smuggling fuel.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the sailors' conditions after “they decided to go on a hunger strike.”
It stressed that it is pursuing all avenues to get them back home, holding the Libyan authorities responsible for their safety, especially with the outbreak of the Coronavirus epidemic.
