With rapid assessments of flood-affected schools, cleaning and restoration of 11 schools in Albayda and Shahat has been initiated to assist the Ministry of Education in reopening these schools in time for the academic year in Derna, the UNICEF said on its Facebook page.

UNICEF is also stepping in to provide essential classroom furniture, including desks for students and teachers, and whiteboards to replace those damaged by the floods.
