The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has expressed its deep sadness by reports regarding the injury of children in a shelling carried out by Haftar's forces, on the Equestrian training school in Janzour municipality in Tripoli.
In a statement issued Sunday, on the attack, UNICEF called on all parties to the conflict to fully comply with the international humanitarian law and to keep children away from harm.
It also expressed grave concern at the devastating consequences of the armed conflict in Libya, noting that civilians were the most affected by the indiscriminate use of weapons, particularly in populated urban areas.
