Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Taher Al-Baour, received the credentials of Mohamed Fayyadi, newly appointed as the UNICEF representative in Libya.

The official meeting took place on Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters and was attended by the Director of the International Organizations Department, Soufian Balkhair, along with other key ministry officials.

Discussions centred on enhancing cooperation between UNICEF and Libyan authorities, particularly regarding children’s rights. Both parties explored ways to intensify efforts across multiple sectors, including education and child protection from violence.

The talks also touched on UNICEF’s collaborative projects with national entities and the commitment to advancing the GNU's Steering Committee Plan for sustainable development, spanning from 2023 to 2025.
