US Deputy Ambassador holds discussions with Al-Sayeh on the need for technical support for upcoming elections
The Deputy Ambassador for the US to Libya, Leslie Ordeman, confirmed US support for the December 24 elections, along with the realization of the road map as set out by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF).
The US embassy further stated, on an its official Twitter account, that Ordeman and the official representative of the US Agency for International Development in Libya, John Pennell, met with the Head of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, to discuss ongoing US technical support for the upcoming elections, set for December 24.
Ordeman arrived in Tripoli on Wednesday, on an official visit, which comes within the framework of Washington’s strong support for the electoral process in Libya.
