The Chargé d'Affairs of the U.S. Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, and the World Bank (WB) Resident Representative for Libya, Henriette von Kaltenborn-Stachau, have convened to discuss the reconstruction needs of Derna and flood-affected areas.
"Productive discussion with WorldBank Resident Representative for Libya Henriette von Kaltenborn-Stachau on reconstruction needs in Derna and other flood-affected communities," the U.S. Embassy quoted the diplomat as saying on the X platform.
In his statement, Berndt said that Libyans have the right "to expect a coordinated nationwide approach to reconstruction that puts the needs of flood victims first, with guarantees for transparency and robust international technical support."
