The Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, confirmed her country’s commitment to provide assistance for the success of the electoral process and fully support stability and a political transition in Libya.
This came during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Manqoush, with the Director of USAID via Zoom, in which the relevance of holding transparent and credible parliamentary and presidential elections next December was emphasized.
During the meeting, Al-Manqoush reviewed all steps taken by the Government of National Unity, to achieve peace and stability, with the assistance of the US for these measures, along with support for civil state institutions, noting the importance of the support by the US in the program to integrate armed entities.
