The US government revealed that Assistant Secretary of State for Conflict and Stabilization Operations, Anne Witkowski, visited Tripoli, accompanied by US Special Envoy Richard Norland, on October 10.
During her meeting with the Presidential Council and local officials, Witkowski confirmed US support for Libya in confronting the effects of the floods, expressing her condolences for the victims who fell as a result of the collapse of dams and floods in Derna.
During the meeting, Witkowski also affirmed her support for Libya for peace and democratic representation, urging progress towards stability and national reconciliation.
